Locust can Impact on Pulse Deliveries - Bulletin
Locusts pose more than just a physical threat to pulse crop yields and quality.
Controlling locusts before harvest is imperative to ensure marketable quality grain and to ensure successful delivery.
The humble sandwich and your morning bowl of cereal may be as powerful as drugs in reducing your risk of heart disease - that’s if you opt for wholegrain varieties.
This is one of the key findings in The Grains & Legumes Health Report, which was launched today, in Adelaide, by the Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Health, The Hon Mark Butler
MP.
The report is a review of the latest scientific evidence on the health benefits of grains and legumes, and was co-authored by Go Grains Health & Nutrition and Associate Professor Peter Williams, University of Wollongong.

Pulse Australia plays a key role in extending pulse messages to all facets of the pulse industry. Hence we are pleased by the 2010 presentation of the prestigious GRDC “Seed of Light” award to Wayne Hawthorne, one of our four Pulse Industry Development Managers. Wayne was acknowledged for his “excellence in grains research extension” in the southern GRDC region, and now joins the late John Slatter who received the similar award for his Pulse Australia work in the northern region in 2006.
